I Don't Know Why You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello

Hello lovelies :D! After panicking a lot last night because I JUST found out about having to do my personal statement for med school (the email was hidden away and sent in July d'oh), I finally fell asleep and woke to a day in the blistering heat at the outlet malls. It's about a 45 minute drive and situated in a desert area (SoCal topography is weird - one minute it's ocean, then the desert, then mountains) so I think I dressed a little too conservatively for the occasion. Imagine wearing a cardigan in 100 degree weather and that would put you in my sweaty shoes. Ewww I know!

Unfortunately there was nothing much to this outlet mall. I tried to follow my brother around the various surf shops but nothing quite appealed to my taste. I pined for Forever 21 in the cool air-conditioned mall silently. However, I did majorly score at Payless and rue21! I still can't figure out if rue21 is somehow related to Forever 21 but it doesn't matter - they have adorable cheap clothes. I picked up 2 print tees (so quirky, my favourite) for $6.00 each and a white brown-belted skirt that I've been waiting to try for the summer southern belle look. My mom says it looks like curtains again (from an earlier shopping mishap) but hopefully it will look fine topped with a chambray shirt that I don't have. I will improvise! I also got suckered into buying their Pink Ice perfume but it actually smells nice. I hate, hate, hate perfume but this nice sweet fruity smell attracted my attention. I absolutely despise it when women who bathe in perfume walk past me. It's like trying to drink a bottle of liquid through your nose ugh! I would have stayed forever in rue21 if I didn't have a 5-minute limit and had to leave for Gap outlet, which disappointed. I held up an XS ruffle tank and it looked like it could easily fit a medium. Another no-go, just like Old Navy. At Payless I scored some Fioni black cage pumps (so cute and not trashy!) for $30 and bogoho (buy one get one half off) American Eagle brown peep toe wedges for $12.50 after discount. Bing-bong! Both are size 5 and fit very well - this is why I get addicted to buying shoes. If I can find a pair that fits my dinky feet I snatch and run, not thinking twice. The nice thing is I can wear these staples over and over and over again and never get tired :D

I wore this ultra-cute Forever 21 Hello Kitty tank top I bought at the very beginning of summer. I'm really sad I haven't featured it until now. It features Hello Kitty eating a delicious slice of watermelon, which you will see replicated by moi in pictures below. "Sweetness makes me smile" - you got that right. I remember jumping up and down trying to get this off a very tall hanger and being so desperate to catch the last Small. Tell me, why do people discriminate against shorties hmm? Have to put all the cute things in sky-high places so we have to ask for help like some damsel in distress D: I don't really like the cutoff-ness of the straps but it's okay. I layered a grey racerback tank underneath so that it wouldn't show half my bra.

The black shorts are a new favourite from H&M. I normally don't splurge on shorts, but I find that investing in a nice sturdy pair is well worth it. The quality of these are wayyy better than anything to be found at F21 and for $20 I want to wear them every day! They are Euro size 4 and pretty roomy for me. I'll take these babies to a Chinese buffet and they won't be any more fu fu fu :3

I did a simple golden eye today and decided to put some green cream eyeliner on the bottom lashline (never picks up on camera well). I zipped up my new cage heels and set up my new-old tripod to do the funnest shoot I've had in a while. Hope you enjoy my toothy smiles because today's outfit is too fun for serious grimacing :D

Wearing:
Hello Kitty watermelon tank, F21 (Small)
Black button shorts, H&M Divided (Euro size 4)
Black cage pumps, Fioni (size 5)
Metallic silver clutch, BCBG Generation (from ReallyPetite)
Blinged out zebra necklace, F21
Green topaz sterling silver ring, Medieval Fair (size 4)
Green stones bracelet, gift

I still like the shade my courtyard provides. Seems like the garage doors don't really distract from the outfit *thumbs-up* My dad made me take embarrassing photos in our backyard so the neighbors won't think I'm insane. He cares too much about mianzi to be high fashion xD Blogger washes out photos die die die T__T

And here's where I start getting weird as per usual. This is hard to hold for over 3 seconds!

I can't get enough of jump shots. This one looks like I'm trying to hug an invisible monster hahaha
Bo peep bo peep bo peep bo peep
Trying out different lighting in the backyard. Me no like the bright spot. Isn't this little fountain cute?
Watermelon fu fu fu :3 !
Searching for shade - very stick to run and press the button and go back to holding the watermelon xD
Detailia: isn't this green topaz absolutely gorgeous?
Crazy zebra bling missing a toe *sniffle*
These are the most comfy shorts that match anything. H&M to the rescue!
Now for shoe picspam because you know you can't resist. I like how Fioni redid their label. By the way, these are SO COMFORTABLE. I ran, I jumped, I stomped the yard in these and my feet didn't hurt a bit :D I will test these out walking at the mall sometime

FOTD: Revlon Photo Ready Foundation in 04 Nude, L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara + Primer, Wet n Wild E/S Palette in Vanity (gold all over lid, sparkly bronze on outer edge, matte dark brown to darken outer v) Wet n Wild Creme Eyeshadow Stick in Envy for lower lashline, ELF Studio Creme Eyeliner in Black, Anastasia Brow Wiz in Medium Ash, ELF Studio Blushing and Bronzing Powder (blush)

Revlon Photo Ready in bright sunlight gives you a nice dewey finish but up close makes you a sparkling freakshow haha - luckily you can't tell in pictures

Flash attack!
Hope you all have had a lovely, relaxing weekend. I'm not certain what's in store for tomorrow: zoo, beach, or working on my personal statement? I need to crack down and get back to work soon on many important things to get ready for the academic year. There is no true thing as a summer vacation anymore, is there? Either way, I have lots to show you guys :D Leave some love! ♥

Once again, I always thought jumping in heels was impossible. Australia needs California's sun.
