Sally the Bactrian Camel Has Two Humps

Photographer: Self-timer & tripod

Yay for nitrolicious neutrals and it is finally Fall Break! Though I have to go in for research tomorrow, I am in full relaxation mode right now. Today, I only had one class and it was a successful venture into Tang Dynasty poetry and if I must say so myself, I did manage to say a profound thing or two. I really like that our professor actually led our discussion session today because he is patient, wise, and also listens well. I am such a literary dork but I love it. After class my boyfriend and I biked to the post office to get our passports renewed because we're going on a vacation during winter break to .... dun dun dun TAIWAN! I have never been anywhere in Asia besides Beijing, so this is super exciting for me and I absolutely cannot wait for all the food, fun, and intense shopping throw-downs! Things will fit, shoes will be small enough, and I will actually get to feel normal height :D If you know of any fun places in Taipei, definitely recommend!

After all the expensive renewal fees and awkward passport photos were done and over with, we went to enjoy some delicious bubble tea, smoothies, and froyo. There's a thrift store nearby that I never ventured into before and I found some crazy tall heels (probably about 6.5 inches). These made me about 5'10" holy cow. My phone pictures don't even do them justice. But for $25, I had to pass them up (though they were size 6 and 5 inches of pure platform!). Of course I can't walk in them but next time I go back, I might see if I can haggle haha. Those are iconic. I ended up buying this super cute camel briefcase-messenger bag-tote-handbag hybrid because I just love the colour and my current school purse is round bottomed and does not keep my notebooks standing up straight. It's most embarrassing and frustrating when I'm fumbling through the depths of my bag and there are people in line waiting behind me :( This square bottom cutie was too cute to pass up even though it cost $25. *sigh* Guess I won't ever save enough for that Canon Rebel T2i SLR I want so badly, eh? xD

I took out the tripod because Mrow Mii had to go do a Chinese yo-yo performance and the sun was setting on a beautiful autumn day without his photography skills. I got some strange stares from strangers still on campus for break and some staring followed by conversation with people I knew. I'm slowly but surely coming out of my little shell. I just love autumn when the temperature is just right. I wore this dark brown silk romper from F21 ($15.80) out today because I wanted to dress fashionably for the first time this hectic week. I thought that dark brown would suit me better than the bright red they had but I think this shade clashes a bit with my hair colour. I love that my hair is looking a bit ombre actually - I'm making peace with my roots. These tights are now my new favourites - I've seen this on the F21 models for a day and an age but never knew where to find them. They were $5.80 and have mesh with grey velvet rose patterns. Love love love and no rips so far! Of course, these Xhilaration (Target) brown oxfords are now my fave shoes ever too because they're comfy and finally FINALLY oxford flats! I'm so excited that last sentence wasn't even proper English. I ordered this pair and a black/white wingtip that I've wanted for so long in size 6's from Target.com and they fit pretty well. The toe is obviously too roomy for me so there are bends in my shoe when I step but I don't really care. Oxfords are the fall staple. Since I ordered two, it was buy one get one 50% off so each pair was $15. Totally awesome like bagels.

The worst things about rompers is that if you have to pee really badly, you're in trouble. I have to unbutton everything and it takes foreverrrr. Haha oh my adventures in clothing myself. Watching the Social Network tomorrow with my friends. I'm super pumped! Have the best weekend, loves!

love your fall look! that romper is gorgeous, might have to check out the red one! haha, i know, not the most convenient when peeing though. and i love those tights! the bag is cute too, but man, $25? that seems pricey for a thrift store, but then again, i'm super cheap when thrifting. but great find. too bad those shoes cost a lot too, hopefully you can work your magic next time. And you're going to Taiwan?? SO jealous! How the heck do you have the money to do that? Wish I could afford to go on vacation!

Oh wow... those shoes!! Haha how on earth does anyone walk in those contraptions?? Anyway, so jealous you get to go to Taiwan! Hubby is Taiwanese but I haven't been there yet despite wanting to go forever... he can't go back until he gets his US citizenship (which he should've years ago, lazy bum) otherwise he gets drafted or something. Definitely wanna try their boba drinks, Taiwanese sausage, and oyster pancakes! I would probably buy all the Asian dramas I can get my hands on too haha. *sigh* Can't wait to see pics from your trip already! :P

Those shoes are outrageous, lol. I know you'll totally rock in them. I am Taiwanese and I haven't been since last year so I am so envious of you. I'll be expecting lots of food porn from you when you get back. :)

I love rompers too but I have the same concern that you have...when a girl has to go, she has to go! And now!

You look great in that outfit, especially the tights. I hope you have a great time in Taiwan. We lived there for three years and it was a great experience. The night markets were the most interesting to me, so I hope you can visit some. Have fun! :-)
