NYE: au casual

TINSELTOWN & JEWEL-TONED. My subtlely sparkling silver top, thin as can be but still with a bit of weight to it - reminds me of mithril, for fellow Lord of the Ring fanatics out there.  The annoying thing is it started falling apart before I put it on, but for $10, who can complain? It reflects light beautifully but my camera doesn't want to capture it properly. Wore this over a satin sapphire button down and some emerald skinnies out to Red Lobster with the fam a few days ago and finalized it for a New Years Eve-Eve (NYEE, pronounced knee, or like the Knights of Ni?) on 12/30/11. Also felt effortless and channeling Alexa Chung while walking my dog, if only she wore more messy buns.

Since I have nowhere to be, I figured as much as I want to get dandied up in my sequined and posh best - the glitter's best left on the dance floor. Someday though, I will count down in Times Square (think of the potential riffing: NYE in NYC). Someday I will attend opulent holiday parties and be decked in boughs of sartorial awesomeness. Reality check? Bumming at home with my parents, watching the ball drop a whole three hours early. At least there is White Zinfandel and a trunk full of hope for 2012 involved. Happy New Years, everyone! (Am I the only one who only feels comfortable when it's an even numbered year?)

The two winners for the UNESTABLISH giveaway have been selected and announced here. Congrats!

Happy New Year Angie! I feel the same way too - I wish I had some swanky party to go to and get all glammed up, but I'm just spending NYE at home with the bf :) Someday though, I'd like to go out to Times Square for New Year's.

You look so pretty in your photos! I love the lip color on you :)

Happy New Year to you too, Angie! I used to love going all out and go to parties and count down on busy streets but now I love spending quiet nye in the quiet massachusetts lol. Maybe its part of getting old, maybe as what I call knowing what I want more. Counting down with parents, chilling at home (with the Family Big Box from Pizza Hut) sounds so damn good to me. Speaking of which, I really need to be home one year to do that with my folks. Anyhoo, may 2012 be another happy and fulfilling year ahead of us! xoxo

My favorite line of what you wrote: decked in boughs of sartorial awesomeness =)

I hope you had an awesome time w/your parents. I also did the same thing. I watched the ball drop 3 hrs early and having a few glasses of sparkling stuff :p

You look so effortless all the time!! :D I swear, you would look awesome decked out in a sequined bag and red lipstick :D

I wore nothing but comfortable PJ's all evening and I loved it! ^_^

The subtleness of the silver top is really nice and I like that you stuck with a strong jewel toned palette. Chilling with the family in the countdown of days until new year's is definitely sounds relaxing and then you also don't have to worry about freezing ^^ Happy new year and have a great start to 2012!

Happy New Year! <3 Although it was quite, at least spending time with the ones you love is the best kind no matter where you are!
I really love this look, although very simple. The satin blue really brings out a flavor, i love <3

Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
