H&M Fall 2011 & Pants Collection Fitting Room Review

Are you ready for this HUGE fall fitting room review at H&M? There were so many inexpensive items at the beginning of this fall, but prices rose again by late September. These were accumulated over two visits, showcasing the Fall and Pants collections, which H&M had 20-25% off coupons for those who subscribe to their newsletter (it's easy and pays off). Click any of the photos with price tags to see the store code in case you want to call in about certain pieces. Also, use this coupon for 25% off an item 10/5-10/10.

1) H&M pink fitted blazer w/ side ruffles, size Euro 4 ($50 $40 with 20% off coupon)
At last! After over a year of hunting down a pink blazer, I still wasn't able to talk myself out of these pricey suckers. This one is perfectly fitted, girly with a feminine silhouette, complete with a few ruffles! It looks great with an A-line skirt. First saw this on Jean - she said it was too long on her, but it's fine on my 5'3" frame.
- Verdict: Purchased, reluctantly due to price

2) H&M dusty pink pleated mini skirt, size Euro 4 ($25)
Picked this up mainly to try with the pink blazer, and it looks great together. I don't need yet another pleated mini skirt though.
- Verdict: Pass
3) H&M grey tweed preppy schoolboy shorts, size Euro 4 ($25)
I love how long this is on the legs, without being too high-waisted or Daisy Duke. The pattern also matches my coat and seems versatile for lazing around fashionably at the library this fall.
- Verdict: Purchased
4) H&M Blue satin pointed collar button down shirt, size Euro 4 ($25)
I love the texture and beautiful colour of this shirt, but even a size 4 is too boxy on me. I should have tried on a size 2, but I felt like I could do without another button up. It looks gorgeous with the hot pink mini skirt though.
- Verdict: Passed, reluctantly due to price
5) H&M hot pink suede mini skirt with gold zippers, size Euro 4 ($25)
When I saw this, I just felt the itch to add this piece to my technicolour wardrobe. What's even better is the functional zippers! I can store so much as I walk around in this teeny-but-not-too-teeny skirt. See it styled in my post here.
- Verdict: Purchased
6) H&M horse print button up shirt, Euro size 4 ($25)
Cute from afar, kind of scared to wear this busy print
- Verdict: Passed
7) H&M horse print silky square scarf ($10)
Silk is classic but cold in the chilly weather. Also, print is too busy for me.
- Verdict: Passed
8) H&M clip-on faux fur scarf thing? ($18)
I've seen this on Jean and others, but can't quite bring myself to wear a huge hunk of fur, albeit faux. I feel bad displaying something that looks like I went out into the woods and killed myself some furry little creature. It looks so good on others but I'll have to pass.
- Verdict: Passed, a bit pricey
9) H&M pink and brown striped sweater, size S ($10)
So cheap! I love the colour combo too, goes perfectly with the pink bowler hat. It was really thin too, great for layering but I'm usually lazy about that. JJ pointed out that I already have too many stripes in my closet: the truest truth if there ever was one.
- Verdict: Pass, reluctantly
10) H&M blue skinny jeans, size Euro 4 ($25)
I really liked the colour and thought about getting a pair to match JJ's he picked up from this Pants Collection, but in the end it was too expensive to take home
- Verdict: Pass
11) H&M black and orange animal print sparkly fitted sweater, Euro size 6 ($30)
I'm not really into the whole ugly sweater vibe, but this sweater is so tiny! A size 6 is perfectly fitted on me, and I usually go for a 4 or 2 in tops. Sparkly orange animals (kind of subtle metallic ish sheen). Too expensive for "just another sweater."
- Verdict: Passed
12) H&M green skinny jeans, size Euro 6 ($13!?)
These are the tightest most petite pants I've tried on - size Euro 4 would fit a normal 2, meaning I had to upgrade to a size 6. The weird thing is there are no pockets at all and the zip is on the left side. I still picked it up because of the interesting colour and riding pants style. The deal was too good to pass up on.
- Verdict: Purchased
13) H&M pointed collar white and peach button up shirt, size Euro 4 ($25 or $30)
Kind of sheer, so layered tank underneath. Buttoned all the way up, super nerdy. The sleeves were super tight on this and same with the collar. Not really feeing it
- Verdict: Passed
14) H&M plaid snap button down shirt, size Euro 2 ($25 $10 on sale)
Recently I've succumbed to plaid. This looked interesting and it fit pretty well but I didn't like how it puckered in the front - most unsightly.
- Verdict: Pass
15) H&M beige long cotton tank top, size Euro 4 ($6)
Super soft and comfy, great for layering underneath. Pictures above (with pink pleated skirt)
- Verdict: Pass, dunno why ...

Random random! Animal head hats freak me out ...
Pretty pink bowler hat $13

Great reviews! Really love the blazer when I first saw it too. The ruffles on the sides very unique. Looks great w/ the tweed/plaid shorts!

I think you walked away with some awesome finds. I would have included the skirt with the rest but that's only because I have a chronic weakness for pleats.

Lots of love from Sydney,

i love your brutally honest reviews and the fact that you hold nothing back! i haven't been in so long, i really need to get there soon! ironically, the things you didn't like are what i liked the best (animal sweaters, etc), but you know me, i'll wear anything, lol. my favorite thing on you was the pink/brown sweater, really complimented your skin/hair and the pink miniskirt. great review! :)

There are some interesting points in time in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them center to heart. There is some validity but I will take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article, thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as well
