Forever 21's Minnie Muse Collection is a perfect segue into my adventure tomorrow at Disneyland in Anaheim. I've never been to Disney World or any Disneyland before (curse my studious 2nd grader self, thinking going to class was more important than having fun pfft) and I am so excited to be able to spend a day reliving my lost childhood. Best of all, I get to go with my "sis" whom I haven't seen for years.

Overall, there aren't many pieces that I absolutely love from this collection other than the red cardigan. There's too much grey and grey and grey and not enough of that cheerful holiday red. What I really want is a big pair of fashionable Minnie ears to walk around in. Take that, usamimi's. Maybe I should have picked up that red and white polka dotted shirt from H&M after all. Aren't the promo pictures adorable? I feel inspired to make an outfit with lots of polka dots, red, decked out with red lips and false lashes, wrapped in a tinsel scarf. I would have loved to see a flapper dress, Minnie style in this collection.

I always love visiting the Disney store even now. Disney is absolutely timeless. I'm going to catch some zzz's so I can prepare for an early morning tomorrow. My camera is going to be jam-packed full of pictures but unfortunately I left my transfer cable at school so I'll show you guys next week : )

Se7en

When Elle of Fast Food and Fashion tagged me in the Seven Confessions game, I immediately started humming Confessions Part II by Usher. Oh how we worshiped Usher back in the day before he went all auto-tune. Here's the scoop on my seven:

1. I'm actually not as panda-obsessed as my blog title may lead people to believe. I think my major craze phase was during the first year of college and consequently my friends all bought me pandas whenever they traveled. I have a huge collection of 30+ stuffed animal pandas ranging from some no taller than 2 inches to the Big Blue Panda that had an accident with too much Tide laundry detergent (hence the name), who is about 4 feet long. Now I've tried to gravitate more towards mature and womanlike things but I'm still a big kid at heart.

2. I've always wanted to be the demure, quiet type of shy girl that people don't notice. Reality? I talk at 90 mph and blab the pinnas off most people and sometimes might still not get the point across. If high school taught me anything, it's to put on a brave, confident face and talk like you know what you're doing that now I have become truly extroverted and a big social butterfly. I have my awkward moments in public though. Strange paradox.

3. Huge fan of puns. I'm severely proud of anything witty or pure cheesy that flies out of my mouth (yes, I'm definitely a dork). All my friends are very good at rolling their eyes and giving wry laughs by now xD

4. Though I'm a neuroscience major, my creative heart lies in the humanities. Psychology, anthropology, languages, music, anything involving people people people and emotions I love much more than chugging numbers or deriving equations. I think if I didn't want to become a doctor, I would be off somewhere in the world doing fieldwork, studying unique tribes and peoples and preserving their culture in my writings.

5. Biggest tomboy ever. I used to swordfight in high school. Some of my friends made fun and called me a "larper" but I took deep pride in making a fearsome war-cry and charging the bejeebies out of any guy. I never was good at doing girly things with girly girls. The thought of shrieking and giggling through a day of spas and shopping together or trying to plan a wedding gives me a headache. I'd rather mud wrestle. My mom thinks I'm a hopeless case because I never care about my hair or keep long nails.

6. I am so easily distracted. I don't believe in all that ADHD stuff but every since I was little, I would always be off in my little world. I sometimes even get distracted from my distractions, which leads to my procrastination problems and nocturnal habits (I am always awake from 5 PM - 8 AM during summers, it's hopeless).

7. I have a deep fear of going under the knife. That's why thinking about lasik makes me queasy and I took lots of anti-anxiety medicine just for taking out my wisdom teeth. It's odd that someday I want to become a surgeon and I'm fearful of my own profession. Go figure. Spiders, snakes, heights, whatever, but surgery and clowns are not my cup of tea.

I tag:
Jen of Rainy Days and Lattes
Liana of FashionBag411
Suzy of Beneaththeglass
Michelle of Michelle-esque
Nic of bangbangsheshoots
Kristy of monochroma.chic
Jenny of the skinnies

P.S. Just started Autumn's Concerto last night and already so addicted. Some convincing acting going on that makes me bear Vanness's questionable looks hahaha. [Photo cred: Drama Wiki]

Photographer: Self-timer and tripod

I'm going to make another overarching over-ambitious goal just to pile more things onto my head: blog daily (or every other day). I've always envied bloggers who are so resilient towards laziness or procrastination or anything and keep chugging their way choo-choo through posts, daily, surely just as the sun rises and sets. I am a perfectionist, I'll admit. I like everything perfectly structured and organized and written and each post requires over an hour of tweaking before publishing, but I realize that people usually like the parts of me that I don't. They like imperfections because they see them as beautiful. It's time for me to let go and start posting pictures that I don't like so much. To chip away a little bit at a time.

I'm still at the mental state and with increasing symptoms of needing feedback, of needing to hear compliments or wanting to be patted on the head for a job well done. I realize that I am hesitant to post daily because I figure most people wouldn't have had time to read and comment yet and I don't like leaving the newest post up for a long time if it's not one of my favourites. I'm no fashion icon. I'm no model. I'm no top blogger. I should be grateful and in awe that so many of you even bother to view the fruits of my labours. And I am. I would have never thought to have made so many connections and become friends with such vibrant, real people in the blogosphere. Through blogging, I've learned a lot. A lot about fashion, makeup, photography, writing, but mostly about who I am and who I want to be. Amazing how a couple of paragraphs of hypertext can transform an individual.

These photos were taken over a month ago, and they're not perfect but I might as well post them sometime. I really like how the colours reminded me of Neapolitan ice cream, containing white, pink, and brown stripes for vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate flavours, respectively. This amused my 5-year-old self greatly but my fondest memory lies with Superman ice cream. High five if you remember the effects of eating that magic xD I ended up returning this H&M dress simply because it was $40 and I couldn't think of versatile outfits to fashion out of it. The length was super short in certain places and left me very uncomfortable even walking around outside in this for a brief while. Layering over tights is a must for this one and overall it's a little too night-gown for me. I tried with the leather jacket, but there simply wasn't that spark. Either way I was really sad to let this go, but sometimes intuition leads us astray or to one-outfit pieces. Flash makes the colours show up more. For some reason that shady intersection by my dorm turns all the light colours into odd variants of white when they shouldn't be. I've learned in this month that my boyfriend trumps the world's best tripod and self-timer. He is the macaroni to my cheese.
