Polished: Pure Ice in Mint Dream

Pure Ice is a popular $2-a-pop drugstore nail polish brand. I love super bright cool colours and I don't frequent subtlety but Mint Dream piqued my interest. It's an opalescent, sheer colour that reminds me of mother of pearl. Even with one sheer coat, it's really pretty and catches the light in a way that cameras can't. It's mostly a pearly pale blue or green and very eye-catching.

Anastasia Brow Wiz Review

I had been fretting over my sparse and light brows for years, but then something caught my interest in one of Michelle Phan's Youtube videos. Anastasia Brow Wiz is a pencil-like super thin eyebrow filler that enables you to draw super fine lines that look natural. No more thick, Crayola brows! So on a whim, I went to Sephora and bought one in Medium Ash for $20.00. I also tried Brunette but the saleslady suggested the former. Brunette is supposed to be more dramatic but it didn't seem to make a difference on me.

There is a tiny tiny pencil at one end (no sharpening, just twist) and a spooley to comb out the hairs. It is super thin so it is very space-saving. I love it and use it every day. Using brown matte eyeshadow or eyeliner pencils was just too heavy for my light eyebrows so the Brow Wiz is the perfect tool. Just use many light strokes and shape as desired. The control is wonderful and perfectly accurate.

One thing you have to be careful about is twisting the pencil back in after use before capping. The big cap is for the pencil and the small one is for the spooley. I've broken off many pieces of the tiny amount of pencil already because I forget which cap goes with which side : (

Orabrush Review: Banish Bad Breath

I heard about Orabrush from juicystar07's Youtube Channel in December and it just so happened that the website was giving away free brushes to try around Christmas-time. I was thrilled and totally willing to pay the $4 shipping.

Bad breath is gross. It's also really hard to get rid of. Flossing, mouthwash, intense brushing, mints mints more mints, brushing tongue with a toothbrush all failed. I also learned from the site that to do a bad breath test, blowing into your hand and smelling won't do anything. You should lick your wrist instead. Eww, but effective.

My Orabrush came in the mail in 3 days. I whipped out the camera and posed with it of course, then brushed my teeth and scraped away. It was pretty disgusting at first, but it got all the white, bacteria-filled plaque off my tongue. I did a breath test and it smelled deliciously like nothing at all. Yay! This beats all those weird special mouthwashes and other products my dentist suggested to pad his wallet with. I woke up the next morning and my tongue was still clean and my breath was fresh like the Prince of Bel-Air. Definitely a worthwhile investment!

These bristles may look sharp and scary but they're really soft! There is a scraper at the top to catch all the plaque.

ELF Studio Haul: Very Impressed

Okay, I know I went off on that whole rant about not wanting to blog about makeup and everything, but I just couldn't resist. Instead of waiting to take pretty pictures of everything, I went ahead and played with my ELF Studio haul that I got back in October. Yeah ... I know. Hehe I took pictures anyway. Yay for 75% off codes :D

These are all normally $3.00 USD but on sale, they were only $0.75 each. Score.

1) Studio Concealer Pencil & Brush in Light (5/5)
- It claims to: "Conceal and heal acne for on the spot treatment"
- Did it? I don't know about the healing part but it certainly covered redness fully without making my face really spotty. The blending brush is super soft and works great. Light is actually perfect for lighter Asian skin : )
- Impression: I love it! I'm going to use this everyday for spot treatment.

2) Studio Complexion Perfection (4/5)
Note after 2 weeks of use: I use this everyday to set my concealer and foundation. It works great for matte-ifying my skin and controlling shine but it doesn't not super-perfect your complexion like a magic powder.
- It claims to: "Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out the skin tone and absorbs excess oil.
- Directions: Blend the powder over the entire face to brighten and even out the skin tone as well as neutralize any redness.
- Did it? When I swirled some onto my flat-top brush, the powder was yellow. It may seem all pretty and pastel yellow, blue, green, pink but it's not. When I put some on my chin, it was definitely too pale for me. Then I spread it out as they said and I don't think it did anything. My face isn't airbrush perfect because of it but it does work as a pressed powder. The redness was pretty much gone with the concealer so I'll have to check back on the neutralization.
- Impression: Funky smell? Or is it from the concealer? It did make my skin super soft and satiny and work great as a powder so not too bad! Wasn't super wowed either.


3) Studio Powder Brush (5/5)
- It claims to: "Create a professionally sculpted look, give full coverage color, can be used for powder of blush for perfect contouring"
- Directions: Dip the brush into powder and the tap off the excess. Start near the hairline and work inward as to not over-apply the color.
- Did it? I only used it for the today's fun so far but I already love it! Its bristles are soo soft and I love the black sleek look. The brushes also look much sturdier than the $1.00 normal ELF line ones.
